If one did successfully plumb the holes for hydraulics, would there be enough pressure at idle to maintain lash?

I would think it would have enough, newer engines the valvetrain didn't start making noise until you were into red lamp flickering pressure. Entirely a guess on my part.

If memory serves me right they do/did but it may have been in the grove. I can't imagine why you would have that one way down there. There looks to be a cover of some kind in the grove where I think the Lincoln lifters had the hole. Tim
