I don't think he was a member here but many of you may remember seeing the 40 Ford cut-a-way chassis he restored. I remember seeing pictures of it here. His name was Rick Rennebohm. I first met him in 1973 and we became friends, he had many old Fords and more recently was a player at the big auctions. I will miss talking with him at swap meets. He was a Pacific NW guy, grew up in Seattle and was living in his place in Anacortes and in AZ for the winters. Born 1950 same as me.....

I knew Rick when he worked at Harris Ford in Lynnwood, WA. He’s just a kid, younger than me. Always was a pleasure to talk to. I believe he had ownership in Skagit Ford. I wonder if the 40 Frame can be obtained to put on display somewhere.

Pech33, the 40 cut-a-way chassis sold at auction for I think 80k. He was currently half owner of Anacortes Chevrolet. His brother Ron owns the Anacortes Ford dealer. I bought my 1st Explorer from Ron when they first came out.

Yes , Ron was the one that worked at Harris Ford and owns the Ford dealership in Anacortes. Rick was a partner in the Chevrolet dealership up until the big GM dealership forced closings. He also had owned Rick's Auto Wrecking in Seattle for many years. I first met him as a customer of my dads antique stores back in the early 80's and I had traveled with him and his wife to Victoria for the last several Northwest Deuce Days shows. I always enjoyed our visits and his stories, as he was a wealth knowledge of 32-36 Fords

Well, you learn something new every day! I was looking at the picture of the banjo and noticed the flange where the T.T bolts, unbolts from the rest of the housing. This must be how they delt with the Mercury driveshafts that had the pinion gear integral with the end. And the "history" printed about the chassis mentioned it was a Mercury. I have seen the driveshafts but never the banjo that went with them. Everything about this is interesting. My Regional Group restored a cut away engine that is now in the Early Ford museum in the midwest. I was in charge of that project and completed it in my shop. It had the original stand that held the cut away transmission too. There are some poor pictures of it in one of my albums. There was some bracketry on the stand that indicated it may have been driven by an electric motor.
