Default Front brakes

Was wondering if front brakes off 53-56 F 1 on a 48 car would be an improvement and a easy fit. Thanks

Yes on both, in my opinion.

Relatively easy, you have to use a modified inner bearing to do it. I seem to remember one of the vendors sells a kit with the correct inner bearing.

Mart.

You only need to make an inner bearing and seal change. Check with Richard Lacy at the Early Ford V-8 Garage. I know he carries the hoses that go from the F-100 wheel cylinder to the stock 1/4" lines. For the inner bearing you use a Koyo roller bearing # 14116(no need to change the inner race) and the seal is a National seal # 473440 or Chicago Rawhide #15214. You may need to chamfer the inner edge of the bearing to conform to the curve on the spindle.

Speedway sells the "kit" but it seems you still need to get out the die grinder and radius the inner bearing though.
