I got into that resto concept over 35 yrs ago but not with a Ford product.

I wanted something I could drive with the family and on long distances.

My choices were 34 (2 door), 37 and 38 (Roadmaster 4 drs), 40 (Limited 4dr)Buicks as well as a 38 Nash. Big comfortable and stable cars with tough frames and very well designed suspensions. Externally untouched right down to the dual sidemounts on the Buicks but with various big OHV's, auto trannies and modern rears. Nothing was a shoehorn fit.

Ive never owned a pre 49 Ford Id want to take on a long trip but that was long before todays aftermarket abundance of goodies. I do know where a 36 4dr has been sitting in storage since 1951, maybe someday!
