How to clean the stater holes in model a shocks

Hi,

Does anyone know how to clean the small holes that are in the stater in the middle of the hydraulic shocks? There is rust or carbon and residue in the holes. I think there is a small bearing in the holes also

Soak them in a petroleum base cleaner or such for a day or so. Blow them out with air and soak some more.
Dental picks can help dislodge. Keep doing the above until you can hear the little check balls rattle when you shake it. Persevere and you’ll get there.
When you reinstall the divider in the housing be sure an stake the corners with some lead or they will leak internally there and not have as good of pressure

I never have
I’ve used permatex on threaded covers. Maybe that??

some rebuild kits years ago came with lead balls to drive in the corners. when i clean up the housings I leave them in there. JB weld can work too. I think RTV would come loose

I never take them out of the shock body. I can generally clean them as well in as out.
But it appears at least one of yours is out. How about snipping a piece of solid solder and tapping in?

A big improvement was the floating ball that came out from the top. Did away with the captive ball in the partition
