Default Anyone know the difference between a 1935 and 1936 floor mat?

The floor mat vendors show 2 differnet part numbers, im hoping the shifter hole is further foward on one as I have a 39 transmission in my 35 and would like to trim the mat as little as possible.

Thanks!

The 36 Ford shift tower is about 1-1/4" further forward on the transmission cover (and mat) than the 35 Ford. The part number difference could be the pattern on the mat (ribbed and pyramid) or color Tan (Taupe) or Benton Gray. It is my understanding that all mats reproduced were for 36 Fords and a proper 35 mat has not been reproduced.

So if that's the case I should order a 36 and it'll be a closer for to my 39 transmission?

A correct '35 front mat (and rear mat) were reproduced in the past, but they are evidently no longer available. Be careful when ordering the '36 mat as I understand that the current version has the hole for the shift lever tower in the '35 location, not the further forward '36-'39 location. If you can buy one without the hole, you can locate it yourself.
