Differences between the A and AA cabs?
Were the cabs on the A and the AA the same size/shape? Or, were the AA cabs larger?

Same cab, front fenders, hood, front splash apron. The hoods, front fenders & front splash apron also are the same as the cars.

Re: Differences between the A and AA cabs?
That makes things rather easy.
Thanks

Re: Differences between the A and AA cabs?
Related question,...are any bigger than others? When the new 31 SW is up to snuff, I'm considering a project.
Everyone feel free to tell me I'm nuts. I have a 1994 F150 4x4 pickup that I've had since new. It's fairly banged up (grandson) but still runs well. I have this vision of taking the body off and melding an A or AA cab and fenders to it. Easy? Difficult? Impossible?

Re: Differences between the A and AA cabs?
I have contemplated picking up an f350 diesel crewcab longbed truck and removing the cab and bed to build an AA flatbed that could carry a couple tonnes and still do highway speeds.
It can be done, but as others have mentioned: At what cost... Quote:

Re: Differences between the A and AA cabs?
I guess if I'm honest with myself (too much of a dreamer really) I'd sell the old F150, buy a nice Model A pickup...or actually any Ford PU up to 1941, and start making payments on a nice new F150 4x4.
My problems with the new PU's is they cost more than my first two houses, together!

Re: Differences between the A and AA cabs?
aa frame is 171 5/16 long wheelbase is 131 and width is 41 inch accross at the rear so if you duplicate that platform and can figure out how to attach the body , runningboards and hood radiator assy than i guess what the hey cant be worse than .......

Re: Differences between the A and AA cabs?
I see a lot of Ranger chassis being used that way. The F150 is too big. They were making a fiberglass 36 cab for just that a few years ago.

Re: Differences between the A and AA cabs?
Way cool Delivery Don! In search of answering my own question, I found this:
Today, undoubtedly the least expensive and simplest way to go hot rodding is by mating a classic pickup truck body to a modern chassis and V8 engine. That’s exactly what Chester shows you step-by-detailed-step in his new eBook, “Hot Rod or Rat Rod: How to Mount a Cheap Antique Truck Body on a Late Model Pickup Chassis for Under $3000“. Here's the link: http://www.hotrodtruckplans.com/[/URL] I was thinking of something like an extended cab....
