Default early '31 68b firewall question

Can anyone tell me if this horizontal bracket is original to this car, and if so what is it for??

Definitely not original. My guess is that it might have been added to hold aftermarket horns.

Someone was thoughtful enough to not drill holes in that nice firewall.
Looks like you can pull it and the 2 sided foam tape off quite easily.

From the title I think he is asking about the piece on the firewall.

Either a hair dryer for heat or WD40 sprayed over the bar if double edged tape, should work to help remove the non-original bar.

Yes, the piece on the firewall, behind the coil bracket. Thanks for all the reply's. I didn't think it belonged there, and I can't imagine what it would hold with just double sided tape. Anywho, off it comes!
