Default 1949 F1 Dana 41 rear end keeps leaking, don't know what to do!

I recently bought a F1 Chassis from a shop a good distance away from my house. I got it home and noticed the recently rebuilt Dana 41 rear end was leaking from the drain plug area of the housing at a rate I never noticed at first. I drained the fluid and used liquid teflon tape on the threads of the top and bottom plugs. I pushed my chassis outside yesterday for the first time since I did the job and noticed that there was a couple drips of gear oil where the drain plug was. I thought it was just me not being clean enough. This morning I walked out into my garage and noticed there was an even bigger drip mark under the rear end. I looked under the diff and noticed there were 3 - 4 drips on the drain plug. Does anyone know if this is a common problem? If not what should I do?

I had the same problem once. It turned out to be a small hole in the plug itself. It was a square drive female and the hole was in the recess. It might be worth checking out.

I hate the recessed-head plugs, I replace them with a male square pipe plug.
