Default 48 Ford track bar bushing question

Does anyone have a diagram of the wishbone end of the front track bar? When I removed the rubber bushings it appears that there's a piece of beaten metal over the mounting bolt (see picture). Is that just a spacer that can/should be replaced? If I remember, the frame end had a hollow tube/spacer that fit inside the rubber bushings.

Thanks,

Dave

There are two rubber bushings that go within the bar and over the stud in your photo. The inner bushing would go against the flat washer shown. Another flat washer goes over the outer bushing prior to the Marsden nut being installed.
If you can find the rubber bushings from an old tube shock, those work perfectly. I think you can get the kit (shock mount) at NAPA.

Thanks, but I've got the rubber bushings. My question is about the crusty looking piece of metal that appears to be over the stud. Is that a hollow sleeve that I can remove/replace or is it just that the stud has been mangled and it is what it is?

That is called rust! Water gets trapped in there and that is the result. The stud has a shoulder on it for the washer to stop against and over time it has corroded away.
