Default A little help please ... Top saddle strap storage

Hello one and all,

I'm usually found on the early V8 forum, but today have a Model T question.

Considering the top saddle where the bows are folded down into, there is a 'tidy' way to roll/secure the strap when the top is up. I've had T's in the past and used to know how this went, but old age - well, you know <grin>.

When you stow the strap, somehow there was a way to do it so the strap was kind of rolled up on top of the saddle, and it ended up looking nicely stowed. Maybe you insert the strap through the buckle then roll it inward or some such.

If anyone has a picture of this, or a diagram or even a clear explanation I'd appreciate the assistance.

We are working on a '36 Phaeton.

Thanks in advance

Henry

The trick is the feed the leather strap through the buckle 2 or 3 times then curl the loop tight.

Thank you for the reply and for the picture. That is the way I thought it would be. My new straps are a little stiff, so I may soak them some beforehand.

Regards

Henry

Have owned about 5 or 6 T's. Love the early ones, last one I had was a very original '12. Original upholstery, radiator etc. Now interested more in early V8 and working on a '36 Phaeton.
