I took a 28-29 hubcap, put a bung from a 55 gallon drum inside it and put a hole in the bung. Put a screw thru the bung, extending about 2 inches. I put the hubcap on the firewall side and extend the screw into the cab of the vehicle. Now I put a large washer against the firewall and thread a wing nut onto this to hold it all in place Actually works great! Harder to describe than it actually is.

Pop it in and fold the tabs flat on the inside. Paint and silicone if inclined.

They might have one at your local electrical supply or hardware store without shipping costs. Plumbing ones seem to max out at 1 1/2"
