spark plug recommendation needed

I've been running Autolite 3076 spark plugs but they are too cold a heat range for my usage.

The hotter Autolite 3077 is no longer available.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a slightly hotter plug from another manufacturer.

Thanks, I've got some used 3X's that came out of my engine before I tried the Autolites.....but the 3X plugs are SUPER expensive now

3x plug expensive compared to other plugs, but they will last 25-30,000 miles which is probably 15 years worth of driving, that expense over that long a time shouldn't be a problem.

I'm feeling more than a little peed off at the moment. I've just seen on the Snyders site that the TT10 plugs are no longer available. I use them not because they are cheap but they work so well and for so long. I get a minimum of 70,000 miles out of a set but for no longer. My cars are drivers so I am switching over to 14mm plugs in adaptors. They should be more durable, cheaper and readily available anywhere.

I have been very happy with Champion 589/W89D described as an agricultural equipment plug. Has a very long electrode/insulator, was told Pikes Peak racers use this plug? Buy direct from Champion, not a common plug.

Interesting, Fred. What is your usage? I’ve been running new Autolite 3076 plugs since October ‘23 and have found them just fine for around town driving. Haven’t been on a long tour with them yet. (I’d use the Champ 3x plugs if I was rich, but alas…)

Good input group, thanks.....some choices available now it seems.

700rpm.....my usage is typically low speed on neighborhood roads, nothing high speed. I had a new set of Autolite 3076's in it, only bout an hour of runnng on them, but lost spark and in trying to diagnose that issue had the plugs out to hand crank it, and noticed the new Autolite 3076's were sooty, just like the Champion 3X's in there prior.

The Autolite 3076 is a slightly "colder" plug than the 3X I read. Therefore, the 3076 plug auto be good for a long tour would think.

No matter what spark plugs you choose, you can buy them through NAPA or O' Rielly's. They can order them directly from Champion. If you order them from NAPA and are a AAA member, you can get the member discount. This what I have done.

I should also add that when you order your spark plugs from NAPA or O'Riely's, the prices are much less than what the catalog charges.

Champion reproduction 3Xs aren't dramatically expensive and they can come apart to be restored like their predecessors. I was picking them up for $1-$3 a pop at Hershey this last year.

Good input group, am gonna try some Champion W16Y plugs, slightly hotter than the 3X's I gather. The Champion W89D or 589/W89D appears to be a good option also.

As I said in post #5. That's why I'm going with modern plugs but NGK have just responded to an enquiry from me telling me that BP5E is not one of their numbers so I checked the plug I have again and guess what. BP5E is correct. Man, these companies can be frustrating!

Maybe some far, far away place like the USA? I guess it all depends on where you start for what is far away. Just half joking.
The plugs are made in Japan. NGK is a Japanese brand. They were my favourite when I was a kid using them in my motorcycles.

I use W18 Champions in my car. They were recommended by a now deceased FordBarn'r: Purdy Swof. I believe that is how he spelled his "handle". The W18's are the modern version of the 3X plugs so I have been told.
