Default Need photos of 29 coupe body / top wood - mine are gone

Before I started taking apart the insides of our 29 standard coupe I took lots of digital photos so I could get it back together.

I've had a mishap with the photos and they are all gone.

I've been doing searches on the site looking for any photos that would help me put things back together but so far I've not been very successful.

Does anyone have any photos of the inside wood, mostly around the side/rear window of a 29 coupe? I've only been able to find photos for '30/31 and they have been only somewhat helpful.

If anyone could share photos of the wood for their 29 could I would greatly appreciate it.

Thebanjoman,
I don't know if you are installing new wood in your car, but I would recommend it. If you had original wood in it and reinstall it, if there are any rotten places (soft areas), usually unseen, you could have a tough time installing upholstery, rain gutter, etc if the nail wont hold. I recently installed a complete new body and top wood kit from Classic Wood in my 28 special coupe (quite similar to a standard 28/29 coupe) and the wood pieces are fairly easy to identify where they fit. If you need help, I or other Fordbarners would surly help.

I purchased new new wood to go in. Almost every piece I had was soft or came apart when I took it apart. Most of the hardware was rusted, pitted, falling apart. I was able to clean up the brackets and my pictures were going to be i big help, but a disk crash and they are gone. I'd like to have them back but sending it off for data recovery is cost prohibitive.

I found it disheartening that I can get hardware kits for 30/31 but not for 28/29, at least from the places I looked, MACs, Snyders, Brattons,

If a hardware kit exists for the 28/29 for the body and top wood I sure wish I could find it.

When I installed my wood kit, I used stainless steel machine screws and wood screws. I saved what was left of the old wood with the screws attached the best I could. I found that most machine screws were #10 flathead and roundhead. Almost all the wood screws are flathead. The nice thing about SS is you can cut them off and they would rust and possibly get stains on the roof liner.

I've taken this advice using stainless machine and wood screws but the progress has been slow. I'm still having a hard time with the wood around the rear window and the smaller pieces in the kit. I'll have to take photos of the pieces I have left so that hopefully someone will take pity on a guy who's lost his pictures to put this back together.

The photo I really need is dead on of the back window and how the wood envelops the hole. The photos in the thread are helpful and I can figure out some of the brackets but without an example of the rear window wood I'm kind of stuck.

If you don't get an answer by the end of the week I can take a picture when I get back home.

Thank you, I'm still feeling foolish I lost all my photos to be able to put the puzzle back together.
