Pate Swap Meet
Would anyone in Texas (or anywhere else) care give their thoughts as to how all this flooding will affect the swap meet next week? Do you all think there will be a bunch of A stuff there. I plan on coming from Missouri but hate to waste a trip.

Re: Pate Swap Meet
The flooding in central ande south Texas will not affect the Swap meet in Fort Worth. So far no flooding in the Pate Swap Meet area. Watch the extended weather report starting on Sunday. Should give you a good indicator of Thursday thru Saturdays weather.
Spaces 787, 789,791, 793, 795. Corner of Rutherford street and 5th street. come by and visit. ken |

Re: Pate Swap Meet
Never been, but planning to go.
Are there sections/areas where one would tend to find Model A parts, or are things scattered throughout the swap meet. It looks to be a pretty big place, and if walking long distances is a problem, it would be nice to park sort of near where model A stuff is likely to be. Any suggestions as to what section to park near? Is there a common area where cars are for sale, or again, are they scattered throughout. |

Re: Pate Swap Meet
Nothing is grouped, it's where you find it. You must walk every row, and pass thousands of aluminum wheels, tires, Chinese tools, and small block Chevy parts, on hot blacktop, to find the rusty stuff we crave. I get there very early in the morning to park on the front row, before they start charging for parking. Better bang for you buck was to go to Chickasha Prewar last month, where 90% is Model T & A, and every space has something of interest. Been going for 38 years, sure do miss the old location in Cresson, Tx.

Re: Pate Swap Meet
Pates is not to bad. Most of the seller spaces are on paved areas. With a pretty good slope for drainage. The parking lots are gravel / dirt but have pretty good run off up close to the entrance. Not sure how the grading is further away. We try to go on Thursday and Friday for better parking. Saturday is hectic so parking is at a premium. Sunday is bare of vendors and you can park up next to the entrance.
