What's up with Macs/Ecklers
Anyone else having issues with them lately?
I placed an order a while back from them. About half the items arrived. No message, no call, no updates on the rest of my order. I have spent close to 2 hours on hold (3 different calls), and they never picked up. I sent them emails too and nothing. I have done business with them before for Corvette parts and never had trouble. I am shocked at the lack of customer service.

Everybody is short handed these days. Many of your stores you may have dealt with will no longer be there after this episode ends, if it ever does. Give some slack and maybe some good things will happen. Be glad it isn't worse!

Re: What's up with Macs/Ecklers
It is going on all over !!!
I ordered $160 of groceries last week. Only $11.85 worth were delivered. Out of stock on other items. Then yesterday another $196 order of mostly the same items got me everything but 3 items. Last edited by Benson; 09-23-2021 at 04:39 PM. |

Re: What's up with Macs/Ecklers
I placed an office supplies order! Out of $260 only $42 arrived, the rest out of stock! You’re lucky you got half! Be tolerant and understanding! These are tough times for all businesses except the bankruptcy offices!

There are numerous other quality vendors. Vote with your feet.

Re: What's up with Macs/Ecklers
Everything is short it seems, out of stock. Everywhere around here (Illinois) are 'Now Hiring' flags flapping in the breeze and signs on the doors.
People are quitting their jobs too because those that are left are getting burned out doing the work of two. Three nurses at our local hospital, all 20+ year employees, walked out this week and said 'We are done'. It's bad, nothing like I have ever seen before. There is a pretty lousy work attitude/ethic taking place, nobody wants to work. All they want is free stuff. The news said there are a record number of ships sitting off shore near California waiting to be unloaded. And then after they are nobody wants to drive the trucks to deliver the stuff. Or work on the Railroads. Then when it does make it's way to the whse./store there is nobody to unload it or stock the merchandise or work the counter selling it. I'm sure it will change back to where it was, eventually. "Nothing in History ever just 'happens', it is planned." Franklin D. Roosevelt |

Re: What's up with Macs/Ecklers
Yea I get the supply issues. Had that with Brattons & Snyders over the past months. Both of them ALWAYS call to explain. I appreciate and respect that.
Sorry but for Ecklers to not answer the phone or reply to emails for weeks. Unsatisfactory. That has nothing to do with a parts shortage.

Re: What's up with Macs/Ecklers
Stingray 70. Please don’t take this as criticism. If you have had good experiences with Bratton’s and Snyder’s why do go to Macs. Thanks

Re: What's up with Macs/Ecklers
No criticism taken. I need fabric which is unfortunately only available from them. If they don't have it I understand. Just surprised that Ecklers is unreachable. That was the point of the OP.

For ya’ll that are critical of Eklers, in the case of authentic upholstery materials, it took their size of checkbook to step up and have them made when no one else was willing or capable. We are all struggling obtaining labor and/or supplies to fill your requests. I will also share that most of us are in the professional side of your hobby because we have a passion for the Model-A and the hobbyists. This ‘state’ most of us are experiencing has taken the fun out of it for many of us. It has also taken the profit out of it for many of us. Please understand that there is a solid reason behind every difficulty you may be experiencing. |

Re: What's up with Macs/Ecklers
A person often has to spread their orders around these days. I ordered a rear hub puller from Mac's yesterday because Synders and Bert's didn't have any in stock. It was shipped today so I have no complaints. Earlier this month I sent an e-mail to a main-line supplier asking about my order for a Mitchell overdrive. I got no response so had to send another a week later which was promptly responded to. I understand today's business problems and I'm dealing patiently with them.....so far.

"Simple solution! Don’t ever go back"
If it is something that only Macs can supply, fabric in this case; "I need fabric which is unfortunately only available from them." (maybe to match what is in the car), then maybe there are not a lot of other options.

Re: What's up with Macs/Ecklers
Take a look the at the 62 cargo ships parked in harbors of San Diego waiting to unload - your parts my be there so go easy on the suppliers.
