Default How many characters in '50 ford vin

I'm wondering how many characters are in the vin of a '50 Ford Tudor? Looking at such a car today and took a pic of the VIN stamped on the firewall for the purpose of "decoding" it. I can't post pics here so I'll just say it appears there are 13, maybe 15 characters but the last 2 could be simply some kind of reflection. What I'm seeing is: CH7OABA25K32C then maybe WB. I'd be interested in what anyone can make of this. Thanks guys!

These vehicles did not have a VIN, per se. They had a serial number. On a 1950 Ford, the serial number should appear stamped on a metal plate and on the frame on the passenger side, possibly on the strap attached to the cross member. The S/N will have the form B0CH###### assuming the vehicle was a V-8.

The number you are seeing is the "cowl code" which has much more information.
CH = Chicago assembly plant
70A = Deluxe Tudor Sedan
B = color code of Bimini Blue
A = upholstery code - Deluxe Mohair, gray stripe
25K = day/month assembled - 25th of November (I think)
32 = the 32nd vehicle assembled at the Chicago plant that day.

Ken,
Thank you for that detailed info! This particular car went to auction today, and with 9,600 ACTUAL MILES it sold well above my chosen budget. So my search for another shoebox continues.
