Wood/Bolts above doors
I'm thinking I should replace the wood above the doors on my Tudor now that I have everything apart. I'm afraid when the time comes for me to tack down the top material the wood wont hold the tacks in. So I see there are bolts going thru the wood with square nuts on top but there's nothing to hold the bolt from spinning while I unscrew the nut. Are they possibly like carriage bolts and if I do undo those, the wood should just pop out right?

Re: Wood/Bolts above doors
Not sure about 30-31, but on 28-29's there are 3 carriage bolts above the door - to access the domed heads and remove them the upper door opening trim ("tin") has to be removed. For access to the 3 bolts over the rear side windows the window trim needs to be removed. Also bolted (not screwed) onto this wood is the one metal roof bow reinforcement near the rear of the door. To access these nuts, the roof panel above the doors need to be removed. Hope this helps, good luck.

Re: Wood/Bolts above doors
the side wood pieces are also screwed to the front corner brackets.
the metal bow in the center just unscrews out but you'll probably have to remove the carriage bolts for that from the top area as seen in the pics ..here are some pics from my lucy album ck it out for other detailed info...the outer panels are nailed to the wood pieces where the top material tacks in so a tiny diaganol cutters works good to get those out... Re: Wood/Bolts above doors
I had forgotten that the 30-31's had the bracket in the front corner that the 28-29's didn't. Here's a picture of a stripped 30-31 body that shows how that bracket and the metal roof bow bracket bolt thru the wood (originally did anyways) and the need to remove the roof panel for access.
