Default Stolen window regulators at MARC Membership

I was selling my A parts at the meet and discovered that the pair of slant windshield window regulators were missing. As u all know these are very rare and was excited to have them to sell. If anyone knows anything about these I would greatly appreciate letting me know. This is the description on. The pair they had turquoise green paint on them as well as the one had the toothed part where u put the handle was off un riveted. I hated to think a fellow Model A er would steal these. I guess there is one in every bunch. My Dad always told me "if they can live with it I can live with out it" how ever it really upsets me. Any help would greatly be appreciated. The hotel has been kind enough to look through there security camera footage. So maybe I can post the fellows picture or they can just send me $200.00 for the pair so I don't have to ruin their reputation!!! Thank vanessa

It is called moral fibre and integrity and unfortunately some people have none. I hope the security camera catches the low life in action and you can post a picture for all to see. Good luck !

Seems to me they ruined their reputation already, I would press charges, get your money and make it known who not to trust. Hope it works out for you....

It's a shame but it happens. Clientele has changed over the years, as it's not your fathers car show any more. Parking lot theft seems to be more common at the larger shows.

Hi Vanessa,

In reading your above plea, "Any help would greatly be appreciated":

I remember about 30 years ago I met my most comical friend one Saturday morning on my carport ........ & while talking to him ......... I noticed that someone had stolen the spark plug from my newly purchased lawn mower that I had bought the day before.

I asked my friend what kind of low down dirty criminal would come on one's carport to steal one's spark plug.

My friend responded for me to look at it this way ...... this thief was really not that bad after all ....... he only needed a spark plug, so he took it ....... at least he was courteous enough to not take my new lawn mower.

Not much consolation, but your thief could have had a laundry bag & could have stolen everything on your table ....... then could have stolen your wallet & shot you ..... and you could have had a permit to carry a weapon, shot him, & would have to make little rocks from big rocks for the rest of your life.

As you can imagine, we all share in your misery ...... & we can all hope that he improperly installed the windshield on his Model A whereby while traveling at 60 MPH, the windshield slammed shut, broke & collapsed, wrapped around his neck & strangled the dirty bum before he ran into a 60" diameter oak tree.

Just hope this helps.

I had a brand new set of nickel plated "clamp on" Schrader tire valves switched with a set of dull faded valves at the 1988 National Meet in Sturbridge, Ma. while my 29 sedan was parked at the host hotel overnight. I feel your pain. Hope you get 'em back.

Back when I used to set up and vend at Hershey, I had something come up missing almost every year. It alsways seemed to happen when unpacking or packing. Just when you are paying the least attention.

I still build those regulators and will keep an eye out based on the description. Hard to find little buggers and, if in decent shape, worth more than $200/pr.

Sorry to hear of your loss Vanessa. Unfortunately, it seem to happen too often to too many folks. I miss seeing you, and your 'guys' at the swap meets. Your entire group have always been welcome at a Model A swap meets, and you have always treated me very well. You dad was especially kind to me as well when I was working on the panel truck.
