Default 39 conv hinge to door fasteners

Were the hinges originally riveted to the doors on these cars? Mine look to be riveted on as I don't see a screw slot, just looks like a flat head rivet.

Mine are screwed in with allen head screws. I know the screws are not original, but I think the threaded portion is.

I'll try to get in there to them and have a closer look Monday evening.

Your door hinge, door side, should be riveted to the the door frame. you should also notice a small tack weld on the hinge to frame also. This is done to prevent the door from loosening and sagging as it is continually closed while slammed shut. The A pillar side hinge is the removable hinge and attached with bolts.

Thanks for the info. That's what I am seeing, however at some point it looks like someone hyper extended the pass. door and sprung the hinges. I need to remove them to properly repair the door and hinge. Can I get replacement rivets, or should I plan on bolting them back when I put the hinges back on the door? Thanks a lot for your help! Ron
