Ditto on open/straight pipe(s). That's what I've had on my '35 fordor sedan for the last 13 years. The original muffler was rotting away, so I "temporarily" replaced it with a section of straight pipe until I could locate an original rounded end muffler used in '35. A fellow V-8'er gave me a new original 35 muffler two years ago, which I've hesitated to install because the straight pipe sounds soooo good.
