51 239 flathead non accel

Good morning g my 51 f3 v8 flathead wont accelerate and takes a bit to start once going it idles fine but can rev the motor at all , Previously battery was hooked up backwards ugh! New condenser twice put in adjusted points still the same i ran a new Chinese cheapo i got for nothing does the same put the old carb on . Here's the kicker truck sat for 9 years and after i got it to run i found sooty deer corn on the ground from the tail pipe!!!!!!!!! Maybe blockage??? it wont accelerate at all thanks !

Try disconnecting the muffler or exhaust at the manifold. Had similar problem with my 38 Lincoln after it sat 20 plus years. It was full of mouse stuff. Tim
