Model A Parts Mailed?
This is not funny & really sad.
Just in case anybody did not receive their Model A parts in the mail recently, they may want to look at these photos and also read today's news article: "Postal worker under investigation after thousands of letters found in woods." Is that a manifold gasket in an envelope next to that ash tree? Some time ago another postal worker was reported dumping over half of his mail in an apartment dumpster. |

Every profession has unethical employees. The post office is no exception! Better to be a mail carrier than a doctor, a nurse or a policeman. Wayne

Hope they didn't or will fire this Federal worker, they will only go to work for VA and then I'm screwed even more..

Re: Model A Parts Mailed?
What's the difference between substandard USPS delivery and substandard proper care at VA. Both are federal institutions providing a service to the public? I absolutely refuse to be treated anymore in my local VA hospital.
That was not a blanket statement.....I'm sure many get expert USPS service and many get expert VA treatment.

Re: Model A Parts Mailed?
Unless, I drove my Model A to the VA today for an appointment, I got better service from my Model A getting there and returning than I did inside VA for myself. It was a wasted trip in my Model A.

Re: Model A Parts Mailed?
Almost all of them are contract workers, career employees don't care and will deliver the mail and collect the OT if it takes too long. Contract employees want to get done and go to another job.

Re: Model A Parts Mailed?
A postal employee once told me that others were not properly delivering mail, and hiding junk mail. We reported it, and the postal authorities REALLY want to know about this stuff. Report it if you really know something, don't just complain on this forum about things you have "heard" or "read" somewhere else Mr. Chauvin. If you or anyone else have a real honest problem or proof, send it in. Seems to me from what you post that the postal authorities are making the appropriate investigation. Hope you got your manifold gasket.

I'm still mad about the postal worker, and my neighbor for doing the wrong thing. The postal driver put my mint taillight in my neighbor's mail box instead of mine. Then my neighbor put it back in the box instead of walking 50 feet to give it to me. Two stupid moves, and the taillight was never heard from again. It probably was sent to Atlanta for the lost mail auction where the PO can make more money. |

Re: Model A Parts Mailed?
Henry with all due respect, are we really all that concerned over the loss of junk mail or an odd gasket? Let's concentrate our efforts on the sick, starving, homeless and the underprivileged. Junk mail is not a priority in my life. Wayne

Re: Model A Parts Mailed?
This forum is a wealth of information and it's great when someone sees an article that others don't that might have an interest that might not be aware of it.
"Just in case anybody did not receive their Model A parts in the mail recently, they may want to look at these photos and also read today's news article: "Postal worker under investigation after thousands of letters found in woods." I think this is what Mr Chauvin did. Barners that have had the same experience can relate to the information.

Re: Model A Parts Mailed?
My VA has great free valet parking. I would drive one of my A's up there just to show off. Problem is none of the attendants would know how to start it. Good service starts with a good attitude.

Re: Model A Parts Mailed?
I gave up my subscription to Old Cars because I was not receiving over half of my issues. The subscription office of Old Cars blamed the USPS and put a trace on my issues. Amazingly they began to appear again, but the trace was only a temporary assist so as soon as it was removed my issues started disappearing again. So, I've purchased a product and the provider of that product cannot provide it because the mail service for third class items stinks (better words come to mind) and the USPS doesn't care and answers to no one at my level for anything. Is this the way the system is supposed to work??? Why should any of us be surprised.....

Re: Model A Parts Mailed?
I agree, captndan. But it sure does help some to pad their posting numbers, eh? Except for one or two guys on here who really have good ideas, I generally ignore the posts made by the "High Number Members". I read this whole thread and I got a lot of new names to add to the list. And I will probably be added to their list too. Oh oh, gotta go... a dog just marked the rear tire on my Model A. Any suggestions to keep that from happening to my Model A Ford ? (On Topic) |

Re: Model A Parts Mailed?
Hi Cool,
Per your #22 request on dog marking/Model A suggestions? A 24" square, scrap piece of metal roofing connected to an electric fence shocking machine placed over your same wet rear Model A tire. One zap on his whistle, and he will start looking for trees, landscape bushes, and fire hydrants ...... anything but a Model A wheel. |
