Default Going back together

I'm putting the engine back together and it is time to get the heads installed. The heads are Edelbrock and the engine is a 59A. I am using bolts as the fasteners and I am using copper head gaskets. I seem to remember reading some where that I should put a coat of latex paint on the head to prevent electrolysis. Back in the day I would spray the gasket with aluminum paint for a sealer. The latex paint thing sounds reasonable, what has been your experience?

Never heard of using Latex paint. I would not use it. I have heard of using aluminum spray paint.I used copper spray sealer and copper gaskets with my aluminum heads 20 years ago and so far, no problems. I think the key to success using antifreeze made for aluminum heads. Do not mix different kinds of antifreeze. Here are some opinions.

It's Ol Ron on here who advocates the use of latex paint on head gaskets. It is my understanding to NOT use copper gaskets on aluminum heads as doing so increases the likelihood of electrolysis. Personally, I use silver paint on both surfaces of the gasket [not copper]

Thanks to all who have responded,I appreciate your input. It would appear that latex paint on the heads doesn't have much of a following. I will stick to the aluminum paint for the gaskets. Thanks again,Keith
