29' 2 Tooth Steering Question
I've been a member of this forum for a while now but I've never posted. I've learned a lot from you guys, so I'd first like to say THANKS!
This may be more complicated than I'm thinking but I'd like to change my 7 tooth steering to a 2 tooth in my 29 roadster. I have a really nice 30/31 2 tooth box (A-3550-C), I also have a 29 style (37") column tube and an extra 29 keyed steering wheel. My question is if I put a new 34" Gemmer steering shaft w/worm gear in the 30/31 box and use the 29 column tube will it essentially work as a 29 2 tooth steering unit? If so, will it also work with the original 7 tooth spark/gas rods and a 29 style 45" horn rod (A-3616-C)? Thanks! |

Re: 29' 2 Tooth Steering Question
I believe you are correct although I think the shaft length you need is 43”. Welcome to the forum!

Re: 29' 2 Tooth Steering Question
This has been a common mod for many years to get the 2-tooth in the earlier cars with 7.
