Re: Where are the GAV Wrench's
Yeah, I have kind of given up on that deal. I have the same "promise" that you posted, also dated 2/15.

Re: Where are the GAV Wrench's
OK, rub it in Carl. ;-))
I posted awhile ago, asking if anyone else had received any after the initial flurry of activity. Got zero responses. I PM'd both Haag and Fingers asking if everything was OK.. Zero response. I am wondering if there was a death in the family or maybe Haag got in over his head with the large response for his socket. I am slowly staring to think we may have to look at other options for a GAV tool. Bummer I was really looking forward to having a tool that not only worked well, but also was from a member who stepped up to help. Time will tell. |

Re: Where are the GAV Wrench's
i believe the suggestion that he got in over. His head is correct. I am told that Snapon makes a socket the exact size. It might be a good time to give up on this guy. Wayne

Re: Where are the GAV Wrench's
It is just a deep well socket to fit the GAV fitting on Holley and Zenith carburetors. It is a odd size socket to fit the GAV hex area.

Re: Where are the GAV Wrench's
Not all were 13/32. At some point I think July 29 I think they switched to a 7/16 GAV. Does anyone have info on when the switch was made?

Re: Where are the GAV Wrench's
The threads on this are long so keep in mind;
NOBODY is out any money except for the one that is making them. He works for a company that makes this kind of stuff and needed to fit them in along with other work being done. That includes all the steps it takes to make them and the final fitting to make them work with reproduction GAV as well as original (yes they are not exactly the same. Does he still have a job? Is his health ok?

Re: Where are the GAV Wrench's
It is no small task to get set up for manufacturing something like that. And, small runs almost always end up loosing money. I give him a lot of credit for even trying.
In the meantime, I have been making out just fine with this open end: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004E3WD68/

Re: Where are the GAV Wrench's
I made my own several years ago, just took a 3/8" deep socket and carefully filed it down to 13/32", works just fine and I use a lot to rebuild carburetors.

Just received the one KGBnut suggested. As a bonus the 5/16 end fits the Zenith drain plug. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004E3WD68/ |

Re: Where are the GAV Wrench's
I took a 10 MM 12 point box end off the wall brand wrench and filed or to fit the 11/32 GAV , only took 2 cans of beer to do it, worked for me.

Re: Where are the GAV Wrench's
Brian, maybe have a couple more beers and make it 13/32" so it fits the GAV...

Re: Where are the GAV Wrench's
Haag1332 was last on line here on 9/22/16
fingers was last on line here today, 9/29/16 Don't know what the problem with the sockets is, but it would be nice for one of them to chime in with an update. I feel fortunate that I received mine a while ago, and they are definitely a quality product. Several carbs have been rebuilt using their socket.

His integrity is certainly being questioned. Just because some people got them does not excuse his poor track record. A craftsman he may well be. A business man he is not. Wayne

Re: Where are the GAV Wrench's
Snap on catalogs list 13/32" for 1928 to before July 1929 and 7/16" for July 1929 to 1931
