Default What year is this intake manifold

I got this manifold because it looked like my 39. After I installed everything, I noticed that that the generator is quite abit higher and the 39 fan belt is too small. The generator mounting bolt is higher than my old 39 aluminum intake. Can anyone tell me what year this is. If someone also can tell me what year fan belt might fit if I want to keep using this manifold

That is a 35-36 maniford. The generator mount is much too tall for a 39. You want the lower generator mount.

Was the height of the fuel pump mounting boss the same as your other manifold? There are two different fuel pump pushrod lengths as well for the different manifolds. Someone will know for sure, but I think that manifold is '35-'36, maybe '37. I know lots of '36s had cast iron manifolds, so not sure what the difference there is.

Most 39's had a cast iron manifold. If your changing to the 36 alum. one you will have to change the fuel pump rod to the shorter one=7 7/8 " long. your cast iron manifold uses one 8 7/8" long. ken ct.

I had a 39 aluminum manifold until last week until it cracked. I bought this one because it was advertised as 37 to 40. I think I have the right fuel pump rod, I need an intake. I prefer aluminum because of the fuel pump rod and the tube under the oil breather. If I switch to cast iron I have to change those two items also. Does anyone have a 39 intake manifold.

Sorry, Ken I have to correct you on the 39 manifolds. The passenger cars used aluminum in 39. I 1940 they went to all cast iron.

Like everyone says that is a `35-`36. The generator is mounted high so the fan will clear the water pumps on the heads. In 1937 the water pumps went to the block.

-Cast iron intakes were used on trucks starting in the mid 30's. Starting in 1940 cast iron was used through 1953, but not the same one for all years.

Okay...here are my opinions....
1. '35 and '36 Ford passenger car aluminum intake manifolds are NOT the same.
2. That is a '36 Ford intake and NOT a '35-'36.
3. Using that '36 intake or a '35 intake in place of a '37 or later intake will put a generator, with fan mounted to the front pulley, too high on a stock '37 and later (up to '39 std) passenger cars, possibly allowing the cooling fan to hit the underside of the top radiator tank.

Joe, couldn't you have the crack in your manifold repaired? If you definitely think you need to find another intake, I have an aluminum '37 to '39 intake in good condition that I would sell you. I also have the cast iron versions in the same configuration if you wanted one of those. Send me a pm if interested.
