1930 Model A shocks..
When I hit bump..(ripple in the road) I thought I was going to lose a wheel. The car bounced from left to right and I never turned the wheels. The bang was so loud at 25mph I'm scared to go over 25 now. What should I look for first, loose ball joints...shocks...etc. Can my shocks be rebuilt Is it hard to do or should I just buy new shocks. The book calls for a product called glycerol, or something like that...can It still be found?

I use hydraulic jack oil. Found at local hardware stores.Check your Radius ball connections and look over your front end. Tie rods, etc. also make sure your steering box is tight along with the pitman arm very important.

Re: 1930 Model A shocks..
on my '31 i have a shock looking part i installed to take all of that shakeing out of the front end. sorry i forgot the name of it. every model a should have one of these one it you never know when that shakeing is going to start. it will make you pee your pants especially hitting a bump at 45 M.P.H. by the way i run newer gas style shocks. when your on the roads its all about saftey for you and for others. i feel theres nothing wrong with up-grades. espeacilly if its not going to be judged JAN.
