Great clips of 20's autos.

Ken Burns makes nice stuff. The only thing about him is he changes history to suit his needs.

And, who has whitewalls in their avatar? LOL
Actually I have a set of whitewalls also, for my 1931 Town Sedan. I bought them mounted on a nice set of red painted wheels because the price was right. I'll use them and they won't be so bad since the car is all black.

I watched most of it (in between naps in the easy chair) and events within this series kind of remind a person of events today!--Hope history does not repeat itself.

Yes it did have neet cars.

Cool Re: Prohibition by Ken Burns

I caught the last part of the series and thought the end statement was pure BS! We have not learned from the prohibition mistake! If you know what I mean........

Your welcome.

It also works great if you have a "smart" TV, or hook up the pc to big screen TV.

Due to extreme tiredness I missed most of last night's episode. I found it interesting how they had to pass the 16th amendment for an income tax before they could pass the 18th as the government was getting all it's taxes from alcohol. We have created a whole industry of law enforcement in this country. If drugs were made legal you would be putting countless law enforcement personnel as well as judges and lawyers out of work. I wonder how many are on the take today as they were during prohibition?

And, most of the old steam engines wore whitewalls!!! Yes, it's true.

Though I'm not a big fan of whitewalls on the Model A, they do look the best on Model A's with a white or tan top.

I don't see any trains. I do see a very nice locomotive though. :-)

The car behind the engine is known as the "TENDER" and carries water as well as fuel. Depending on the engine, the fuel could be wood, coal, or fuel oil. For long hauls, without refueling, the engine might have one or two more water cars behind the tender. This car was called a calf.
