Default 1936 ford two piece fenders

I have a 1936 3w coupe. There is a stainless welting that goes between the smaller part of the fender and the larger fender.
I call it welting for lack of a better word. It is formed to fit between the fender rather than regular welting where you have to wiggle it in.
Is this something that is available from the larger Ford parts vendors? If so, what is the correct terminology for this part?
Thanks

C&G Antique Ford has the correct fender welting with stainless bead, p/n 48-16070-SS. They're a good, reliable vendor. cgfordparts.com

I also am building a '36 3W coupe, so if I can be of any help, send me a PM and I'll be happy to help, if I can. You should also buy a copy of the EFV8 Club's 1935 / 1936 book which has lots of info to help in your build.

Only the DeLux cars had the stainless welting in the front fenders. As i recall the 3 widow coupes were all Delux cars.

Quite possibly correct concerning the fender welting, blucar, but I couldn't find it stated in the "1935-36 Ford Book". Perhaps I missed it. I do know that you are correct in that all '36 3W's were Deluxe models.

I had a nice unrestored 36 sedan. It didn’t have stainless.

There was a question, at least in my mind, to a statement made concerning whether or not the 2-piece front fender had a stainless steel covered welting between the two sections. I kept thinking about it and decided to scour the source I've used to restore my '36. I found the answer in the "1935-36 Ford Book" by John Swanberg & Don Rogers. On page 19, under "Front fender design", it states:

"For '36, the front fenders were a two piece design with an inner panel mounted along side the grille which contained the horn grille opening. The fender was attached to the inner panel with a two-piece stainless steel covered burlap welting in between." (bold lettering mine)

Nowhere in that book does it mention that standard cars do not have that welting, so by default, I would say that every '36 car had the stainless welting. Any proof to the contrary ??

That goes both ways. You could also say nowhere in that book does it mention that standard cars DO have that stainless welting...

If I recall correctly Ford had a "kit" to make a 35 into a 36. G.M.

In the U.S. chassis parts catalog, there is only one listing for that welting (anti-squeak in Ford parlance) and given that it is a formed piece that suggests that it was originally used on all U.S.-built '36 passenger cars, standard and deluxe.

My 36 sedan is a standard and it has the stainless steel welting. The car was pretty much original when I got it. Terry
