Default Fitting 1939 truck windshield hinges

So here I am battling away trying to get this windshield in and closing properly. I am screwing around with the adjustments but the top is still too far in. Then I see it. Check the pictures. There is no forward adjustment. The hinge is hard up against the roof seam. So I cut a relief in the hinge (see pic) and presto everything fits and the windshield closes evenly. I can’t believe it was like this for 80 years. Also explains the suitcase clips and screws to hold the bottom of the windshield closed.
