Default Brake conversion

When using F100 brakes on 46-48 Ford passenger cars can you use the F100 backing plates, brakes and drums but keep the car hubs this is front brakes. Thanks.

You will need the F-100 hubs, too.

I agree you need the whole setup, but why were you wanting to use the original hubs?

Also the correct inner wheel bearing. Whose number escapes me at this time.

Like Rich b stated. You also need to change the inner bearings and seals. When it is all done and adjusted, you will be happy with how it stops

Thanks guys, I had extra hubs for 46-48 cars off the drums so I was hoping they could be used.

'53-'56 F-100 along with '48-'52 F-1.

The backing plates are the same for both F-1 and F-100.

The hub and drum assy's are different; but no problem as long as the drums
match the hubs.

F-100 drums are available from most regular parts sources.

F-1 drums are not available in the replacement parts market; there
are reproductions available at times; but many use a readily available late model drum instead.

Good info rich. I use F-1 hubs on the front and the later model Ford drums.
