One of my A's has a Marvel carb It runs great but it likes to flood easily and is often hard to start. Much harder than the zenith on my other car. This could be an issue with the mechanic/driver though...

My car runs most days, but lately won't start. When I try to start her, I see fuel which moistens the joint where the Marvel carb meets the intake manifold. Has to be a failed gasket, right? Would that be the cause of my non-start? The vacuum in the intake manifold must fail, due to the failed gasket, right? I'll get a new gasket on there.
