The difference on the late 1951 engines is the rotator type valves that came some time in early 1951. They are same as Ford for the most part. The C8CM indicates Canadian Mercury but that won't make any difference since they were the same basic engines between Dearborn and Windsor.

I have done mostly A and 59 ab engines. how do you tell the different years. by the valve keeper. there is nothing on the surface under the intake except for some random z's, other marks

my valve keepers are like the pictured 51 in your picture-in the back of my mind I knew of this but was timid to make the decision--THANKS again merc 51
