Hello,

I'm looking for an original battery box for my '36 passenger car frame. Please let me know if you have one for sale.

Thanks!

It fools you because it isn't a box. It's actually a spar or brace that bolts between the x-member and the outside frame. A flat piece about 16 inches long with a 90 degree angle for the battery to sit on. Mac's Auto Parts has them.

Thanks Chris. Do you have a picture of what it looks like installed w/battery?

Here are some pics that show the original battery mounting brackets/cross braces (painted black) for a '35 or '36 Ford passenger car. I happen to have an Optima battery mounted in mine that uses a special bolt in mounting box that I fabricated. The Optima and its mounting box can be removed in about 10 minutes if I ever want to go back to a stock group 2LF lead acid battery. Hope these pics help.

The bracket in the first picture I make and wholesale to the dealers. I do not make the one in the second picture. There is to y bolts that go into holes in the 2 brackets and the bolt on a holddown which I also make. Let me know if you need or buy from macs or c&g.
