Electric fuel pump in shuebox
When you cut the fuel line to install the fuel pump due you flair the fuel lines. According to Airtex they should be flared. Problem is I do not have a flaring tool

Re: Electric fuel pump in shuebox
Depends on how you are connecting it. If you are using short pieces of hose on each side you the pump all I normally use is clamps. If you are using hard fittings I would use flair fittings. Ether way this is a low pressure setup.

Re: Electric fuel pump in shuebox
You are only running 3 psi max I would presume, so a clean deburred cut with a quality stainless hose clip will be ok. Put the filter before the pump.

Re: Electric fuel pump in shuebox
As noted in an earlier post, using rubber hoses to connect the electric fuel pump to the gas line and filter will serve to mitigate the noise from the pump.

Re: Electric fuel pump in shuebox
Thanks guys. Did not think I would need to flare the gas lines. But figured I would ask the experts to be sure so I would not have problems down the road.

Re: Electric fuel pump in shuebox
Here is how I installed the electric fuel pump in my shoebox with compression fittings - easier than flared and more secure and durable than rubber hoses clamped on.

Re: Electric fuel pump in shuebox
pump should be mounted as close as possible to the tank. Mine is bolted to the spare tire well (using the Mustang tank turned sideways)

Re: Electric fuel pump in shuebox
Nice thing about rubber and hose clamps - you can clamp off to changes inline filter

Re: Electric fuel pump in shuebox
If you do use hose, buy fuel injection type. CORN GAS WONT EAT IT UP.

Re: Electric fuel pump in shuebox
You probably know, but here it is anyway, even though you have the filter just before the pump, you should still have one up just before the pressure regulator (if you have one).
