Default Sound proofing\ insulation

Who makes good sound proofing/ insulation? I live in Montana so is like to insulate it. As well as cut down road noise.

When I insulate one, I use Dynamat to cut down on vibrations that cause 'road noise'. Depending on the location, I use foil and ½" and ¾" Underfelt. In the top, I use piano wire to form a zig-zag grid to hold the insulation.

Brent, thanks for sharing! Definitely very useful for me

Can you say where you use the different thicknesses?

I honestly don't know/remember specifically. We use both sizes of the felt in our upholstery shop, so since we have it already. Therefore they just cut it whatever size thickness for where it will fit. For a hobbyist, just order one small roll of ½" thickness, and then in areas where additional thicknesses will work, just use the 3M Super 77 adhesive to laminate the two ½" thicknesses of felt together.
