RR,
I will only guess at the distributor and may be way off but the 32 that we just did was good at .501 inch. Regards, Chris

If you want a close to perfect fit on the clutch shaft bushings, I would get an adjustable reamer. I’d have to check to see what size we bought for the shop but the reality is that there are subtle differences in the bushings AND the clutch release shafts. The fine adjustments you can make with the adjustable reamer will compensate for these. If you don’t want to spend the money for that tool because you’re only doing this job once, just use a regular brake wheel cylinder hone. It’s probably going to take longer but it’s much less expensive.

I've held off posting on this thread, but, further to what Mac said, 1932-48 Ford distributor housing shaft bushing is an oilite bush...you DO NOT ream oilite bushes, reaming these things will smear the surface, they need to maintain their built in oil holding capabilities.
1932-48 Ford flathead fuel pump push rod bushing; originally these were heat treated steel, modern replacements are bronze, however, these things are such a rattling fit on the pushrod, you'll not need to open them up any more...

For the clutch cross shaft, I used a brake wheel cylinder hone as Mac suggested above. It did not take very long to get a satisfactory fit on my trans housing.

My friend had reproduction brake actuators levers for his 34 and they were two different sizes. Not that you would notice but a thousandth or two makes a difference when you want a good fit.

King pin and bushing reamer, adjustable from 25/32 to 27/32 to use a .812 king pin.
Second is the steering gearbox bushing reamer , 1 1/4 inch. I have another one somewhere for doing the carburetor shaft bushing’s. |
