Need some help fromany/all of the Barners smarter than me. The horn button assembly on my 46 Tudor was in mostly gone and I'm trying to figure out the missing parts. Haven't found a diagram, my Green Bible is MIA, and need the wisdom of others.

I understand the column wire thing but need input on the rest.

What say you?

Is this what you were looking for? Wiring diagrams are available at VanPelts or a search on the internet. I'll post the column diagram as well. Does any of this help any?

Thanks for the response.. I'm good with the electrical diagrams side. My questions are about the mechanical elements on the horn button and ring. What I have are the column wire termination and collar. I also have the original horn button.

There just doesn't seem to be the parts to complete the connection. Perhaps I'm confused by the design of the early F1 truck horn buttons that have an index plate and contact ring. That and I'm easily confused.

Join the club! I'm not aware of a better car horn diagram, all of my information is F1 as well. Maybe there is something in one of the car repair manuals.

I've scoured the Shop Manuals and other references. Most provide the electrical stuff, which is helpful, just not the mechanical. Between the bits I have and a couple of 'might need this' parts, I'll muddle along.

Indeed.

The NPR Car Talk guys did, on occasion, spend time discussing whether two people who didn't understand something were smarter or dumber than just one person with the same knowledge. With those two, they tended toward the 'more is dumber' conclusion.

It is likely that the rubber "donut" is disintegrated or missing. C&G has then. For 41-48 the part is 11A-3672, about $3

Thanks, Supereal. Yup, no insulator. Is there also some kind of piece that the bottom of the button lands on after the spring (figured this out) is compressed?
