attaching interior wool covered panels with?
about to replace all interior panels on Model A Deluxe Coupe 1930. I cannot figure out what covers the exposed clip; the clips that are used to attach the door panel to the frame of the car. And I cannot find a good picture of the 'finished 'look' of the interior.
I am going for the authentic, original wool covered panels... (currently, the interior panels are held in place with exposed screw and ring washers. No idea if is how the original panels were held in place.... Help! Thanks! |

Re: attaching interior wool covered panels with?
Model A Vendors sell clips to insert in punched holes in the panel board. Many people use thin cotton batting between the outer fabric and the panel, avoiding foam products.

Thank you, I ordered the clips (50 to a bag) ... so these Clips goes on the 'cardboard', then a layer of cotton batting is glued on... all BEFORE you glue down the wool outer cloth?

The fabric is most often only wrapped around the edges and glued to the back of the panel allowing it to breathe, etc. Some cars have decor or border lines often stitched thru the panel. Check with Classtique Co. for more info. |
