Default 1949 8BA no compression

I am having issues with #2 cylinder. It's not registering any compression. The gentleman who sold me the truck is saying it is a stuck valve.

Any helpful input would be great.

Can you remove the spark plug and squirt some liquid wrench or Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinder and let it soak for a few days?

I guess next step would be to pull the head.

Zero compression could sure be a stuck valve. Bad rings would more likely be a low reading. If the valve is sticking open there is not going to be any compression at all. Will the engine run at all? With out taking it apart about all you can do is try soaking the valve stem in something to free it up. If that gets you nowhere, then remove the intake manifold and see if you can free it up.

If the exhaust valve is stuck, you can remove the spark plug and check if it is moving as it is right below the plug. You should be able to see the intake valve off to the side.

Along with above suggestions to perhaps check valve clearances at this cylinder.
Adjuster may have moved. Try the easy bits first.

remove spark plug put piston at t d c comp stroke.to do this just line up the roter with the the cylinder wire your testing. now take a air blow gun insert it in the spark plug hole. put a rag around it pressure the cyl. if you hear air in the intake manfold it,s a intake valve. if you hear air in the exhaust it,s a exhaust valve. if you hear air in the crank case it,s rings. if you have a leak down test kit it,s ez r . or with an old spark plug you could make an adptor to charge the cylinder

if it runs, dribble a little brake fluid into the carb, then dribble MMO or ATF this will "fog" the valve guide and loosen stuck valves--sometimes you can free up a stuck exhaust valve by gently tapping on it thru the spark plug hole

So I soaked it in MMO. No luck. #2 cyl makes it difficult to see the other valve. The valve beneath the spark plug is moving. I was told thats an exhaust valve but it looks like an intake. Not sure.

Blow some air in there at tdc on compression and see where the air comes out.
