'Only' 21,000 produced... Do any Barners own a '31 Deluxe Tudor? (an original Deluxe, not an after-market one....)

Hemmings ought to reject ads like this, "Tudor Town Sedan"! LOL. And they show one years production against the four year's total production (Five million) Gee, My Town sedan (4 doors) must be rare too! Correct me if i'm wrong, But I see a Tudor Deluxe, Period.

Re: "one of the rarest model a's produced" ???
My 31 Town Sedan is significantly more rare than that vehicle.
It is the only Model A to be owned by a brother and sister teacher who used it to drive to school until the late 50’s (finally traded it in for Checker) and my dad. No other Model A will ever be able to duplicate this! |

Re: "one of the rarest model a's produced" ???
I would guess that the actual color is Andalusia Blue. Go to the photo with the RH door opened and the seat tipped forward and the colors are quite obvious. The real question is What the hell is that color on the wheels?

The firewall is blue. Certainly is a misrepresented car.

Re: "one of the rarest model a's produced" ???
I don't think this 55B to be a true 55B Deluxe Tudor, since the Deluxe was introduced in June 1931 the earliest engine number for that month was 4,696,000. The car in question does not have an indented firewall (introduced Apr-May 1931 I believe). Additionally, a Deluxe would have had an adjustable driver's seat like the Vicky and 400A.

Re: "one of the rarest model a's produced" ???
It also still has the gas tank mounted steering column support, when did they change to the one mounted to the dash rail?
My guess is that they were going for the Lombard blue body/Hessian blue wheel color scheme but didn't get the colors quite right. Although that blue looks more like Andalucite, almost black in the right light. |

Re: "one of the rarest model a's produced" ???
MMMM Just me or is the headlight bar 28-29. I also question the interior. I don't see a center armrest in the back seat and the welt cord (piping) is too thick. The passenger side rear side armrest seems a bit weird as well.

Didn't catch it the first time around but I think you're right about the headlight bar.

Re: "one of the rarest model a's produced" ???
The deluxe tudors did NOT have a center arm rest. The side arm rest is as in mine. FWIW
