Have you ever seen a schematic like this?
I just picked up a Homelite generator today and was looking at the schematics and noticed that even the manufacters don't know everything about their products or why some parts are there. My hats off to you Guys that do research on Model A's if you ever run into this sort of thing in the Ford archives. Look at what I circled. What do I call it if I need to replace it? And what does it do? Sure made me shake my head. Hope its big enough for you to see.

Re: Have you ever seen a schematic like this?
Someone at Homelite made a boo boo. You can't determine what the part is from this drawing! You could trace the two orange wires, see what they go to and go from there. The other ends of the orange wires (2) go to a switch and a diode assy. Maybe call Homelite and see if you can get an accurate schematic. Good luck!

My wild guess is electric choke activator.

Does your generator have a 12v electric starter? Looks similar to what I have on my Coleman, assuming the drawing is not to scale.

Re: Have you ever seen a schematic like this?
Mine just has a recoil start on it. My original post was tongue in cheek as all the other switches, coils, outlets and sensors are all named on the diagram except the one I circled, that has 6 question marks by it. If the people that built this thing don't know what it is how is anyone else? I appreciate the opinions shared with me, I guess I just have an odd sense of humor, I will try to keep it under control. The factory parts book for my '72 Triumph is full of drawings like that. Today's parts catalogs have much cruder drawings. Doug

Looks like the back nine at the Homelite golf course.
