Starter 1938...question!
Hi all!
Can anybody if this starter work in my Ford 1946? It is from a Ford 1938. If not, which is the difference between one and the other. I appreciate your help. Hary.

Re: Starter 1938...question!
No reason I can think of that it won't fit and function. There were some variations throughout the flathead era, so if being exactly correct for the year is not high on your priority list and worried about funtioning properly you should be fine. Rod

Re: Starter 1938...question!
It'll go right on. All 221-239-255 starters from 1932-53 EXCEPT automatic transmission cars will interchange. The one you show was used '32-48. I suspect it will go right to work with nothing but a bit of cleaning...I've never had any actual problem with the things.
