Default Flag question

Working feverishly to get my 29 Roadster back together and on the road by the weekend. Think I am going to make it. Would love to ride through town with a flag on her. Which leads to my question - where does everyone mount their flags and how do yoju mount them?

Have a wonderful 4th of July and despite all the headlines in the daily news lets be proud to be American and remember those that have sacrificed their lives for us. America is still the greatest the country in the world!!!!

I have a spring loaded flag holder like this that clips to the bumper. I would recommend a better flag tho. I self distructs at speed!!

Here is the American flag I use. It is hemmed all around so it doesn't fray like the 'cheapies'.

I purchased a three flag holder that fits behind the radiator cap, under the hood. I also attached a single flag on a stick to each bumper end. Lots of compliments ! Wayne

A heater hose clamp around the front bumper end bolt barrels will hold the wooden flag mast. Just unscrew the worm clamp until the end disengages from the worm gear, and then wrap around the bumper bolt spacer barrel. Then re-thread into the worm gear and then attach the flag mast on the inside of the bumper bar where the eyelet is.

I've got a 5 flag holder mounted to the front bumper in the center, I put the flags on when I get to where I'm going and remove before I leave. Can't tell you how many I've lost because I forgot to take them off .
I also usually mount two larger flags at the bumper ends with a rubber band, it works.
Just ordered a Confederate 4x6" and a Swedish flag to mount in place of 2 of the regular American flags, forgot to order the "Don't tread on me" one. Next time I order.

From the website- http://www.ushistory.org/betsy/more/displayonly.htm
"When flags of two or more nations are displayed, they are to be flown from separate staffs of the same height. The flags should be of approximately equal size. International usage forbids the display of the flag of one nation above that of another nation in time of peace."

I trust you will be displaying that other thing at a lower point than the proper American and Swedish flags, so as not to dishonor real, sovereign entities.

I wonder how two WAG straps would work and eliminate the marks from a metal clamp

The rubber bands are quick and free if you receive the newspaper. Put the staff thru the band with the band behind the bumper with the staff in the front. Extend the band under the bumper and around the bottom of the staff. Just be sure to remove the flags before you reach highway speeds so as not to loose the flag and allow it to touch the ground.

For display or slow moving, press fit works for me.

The 'Don't Tread on Me' flag was once a flag of another rebellious country/colony. I guess it's OK since that rebellious country won. Right????

Fly whatever you want Paul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think you still have that Right.....I think!!!

I took two pieces of PVC and slotted them, put a cap on each and drilled a hole in the caps to hold a flag. Push them down on the the very end of the bumper.
1-1/4 inch PVC, 12L with a 6" slot. Make the slot smaller than the bumper bars for a snug fit. Paint 'em Black. Push them down on the very end of the bumper where the big bolt and spacer go thru the curl of the bumper bars (for lack of a better term).
