1937 V8-60 "tin side"
Does anyone have photo's of the early block (1937 "tin side") with the stainless steel panel removed? Trying to find out how much casting width is around the edge where the welding is done. Any images greatly appreciated.

Welcome to FordBarn! This is not exactly what you asked for, but gives a pretty clear picture of the weld itself! DD |

Thank you. I'm looking to make a bolt on plate from alluminium if there is enough width on the casting. There is a photo on the internet somewhere but is proving very difficult to find. Thanks again for your help.

Welcome, planning on fitting a '60' to a model Y?

Great catch Brian. I too have a 36 Y model that came from Rangiora. I have way too many 60 engines & parts. I think a tricked out 60 would look chill in my 2 door Y model. May need to
Leave fenders off. Cheers |

Secret's out!! Yes, but I believe it has been done before. The perfect match. "Hot wash" 34 car and "hot wash" 85 hp. I can't believe the factory never did it. There will be some issues with the steering column but nothing's insurmountable. Steve |
