Default Macs Auto Parts

I need to vent
Last Sunday I put an order in for a few parts, the money came right out of my account but no order number was sent.
By Wednesday I called to find out what was going on and was told the order was going out Thursday .
Today which was on week later I checked the order number that they gave me to find out my parts will not be here till Thursday.
Wow
Speedway and other company's deliver in a week and Macs needs two weekends from Florida to New York .
Never again
They can't be that busy and if they are shame on them because that is terrible customer service!!!

I feel your pain. I just had a similar deal happen to me. Ordered 6 items Wed. morning. They pulled the order on Thursday. Processed the order on Friday. I called the following Friday to check on delivery. Was told it would be delivered on the next Tuesday and one part would be delivered in two more weeks. HUH? Back ordered. HUH? I am done with them now. Never use to have a problem with them.

They were bought out by Eckler's, the brand X parts store and then moved the operation to Florida. What do you expect?

I heard they are getting rid of the Ford part numbers and using their own system - not sure of this.

The same thing happened when they bought out Dearborn Classics - freight charges went through the roof and service sucks.

Since Macs were taken over by Ecklers their delivery times have increased and many items listed are out of stock. I live in Australia and my recent order for about 20 plus items finally arrived after a ten week wait. That's air freight not by ship !! I did not get all the parts I ordered because of NO STOCK. The good old days are gone. Regards, Kevin.

when i ordered a header pipe for a 34, i should have ordered one for a 56 nash... it probably would have fit better. i had to cut off both flanges, redo all the bends, and then weld it up. this was when i had the stock 34 block in the car. at the time, all the other vendors told me they had no pipes, and the supplier had quit making them (last dec.) so, as a last resort i went with macs. it took weeks. always use macs as the last resort

What does Mac's have that you can't find someplace else? I used them once 15 years ago, very poor quality part and they shrugged me off. I have got along just fine not using them since.

Its a shame as Ive had one of my best deliveries with them, a starter motor . Ordered on a Thursday night and it was on my doorstep Monday lunchtime and Im in Western Australia! But that was a few years ago
Try James at Gotham Auto for your early Ford stuff.

That is what happened at the beginning-- and it was none too popular.

They had tables in the back of the catalogs to convert the Ford Numbers to the Eckler numbers. It was a major pain in the rear.

I am told that they have since gone back to the old Ford Part Numbers. Too late for me--the damage is done. I will stick with C&G and Joe's,

I haven't ordered anything since they moved from Lockport NY to Florida .
Now , with all the negative comments in the last year or so , I am almost afraid to !
I guess I will keep them on my list as a " last resort ". It's a shame , because they were only 1 1/2 hrs. from me before , and I used to enjoy going there to pick up my parts & see what I was getting . If a part had poor quality , I didn't buy it .

Yep!---Poor quality, Long time to ship, Very high shipping charges. I no longer buy from MACS. There are lots of other vendors that offer good parts and customer service.

I dealt with MAC'S since the early-80's, but got burned a couple of times since Eckler's bought the business. As far as I'm concerned, MAC'S doesn't exist any longer................

I've been buying quite a few parts from Mac's lately for my 49 F1, and haven't had any issue at all with them. They are on Ebay and they seem to do a better job with shipping costs and combining the shipping as well. You don't get to sell something out of stock on Ebay.

Anything that MAC's sells that is decent quality is made by Dennis Carpenter... So why would I buy it from MAC's?

They must be busy, I called twice last week and was put on hold long enough to hang up on them.
And I have not called back, I will find another source

That's funny since they moved to Florida my shipping times are alot better. Maybe it's because they're only 150 mikes away.
