I saw a discussion about this on the ACAA forum a little while ago, but I can't find my notes. They provided model numbers for a couple of flow through fuel pumps -- maybe you can find the thread -- it was for Buicks but of course these pumps work on any old car and come in 6 and 12-volt models. The poster suggested that before installing, in order to make sure it's a "flow through" pump that you suck and/or blow at each end to see if you can blow through it and also pull through it without a problem. Good luck.

If you can blow through the electric pump from the tank end with your mouth the mechanical pump will pull gas through the electric pump. If the electric pump has a check valve in it you can blow from the tank side but not from the engine side. With a lite check valve you can blow through from the tank side with your mouth the mechanical will pull through that also. G.M.
