Default skirts

On my 53 Customline I've got flush mounted skirts. I was never happy with the fit. I see on ebay they have overlay skirts. Has anyone ever used these . if so how good do they fit up against the fender. Thanks

They're good at hiding the rust around the fender wells, so common in the Midwest...
