Default E28 Floor Board Seal

Too hot outside to work in garage so re-re-reading the Judging Standards.
I noticed Section 11, page 2 (Carpets & Mats) of the Judging Standards states “some very early 1928 vehicles had a rubber seal around the gear shift housing with a metal ring attached with three screws. all other cars just had a flat rubber seal tacked in place ... dropped June '28.”.

I assume this is a different item than that used with carpet.I dont see it listed in the 1-1-28 Parts Price List or shown in the Owners Manuels. Can anyone shed some light on ...

* shape of both of these seals? (picture of original items would be ideal)
* dates used?

interesting, i have 2 sets of original floorboards ... neither have screw/nail holes around the shift tower.

i assumed the ring/rubber was only used attached to 'carpet' (closed car), while the only covering on open car floorboards was the rubber mat.

I hope this helps. This is the ring for the floorboard seal. It was nickel plated and attached to the board with three screws.
